About Us
Send your child to learn at SciCore Academy, our private day school offering values-based education to grades Pre-K through 12. We offer outstanding science and humanities curricula for elementary, middle, and college preparatory high school students. Your young star will shine among a community of bright, talented, and friendly students. Our encouraging and enthusiastic teachers also foster an in-depth learning and problem-solving culture as well as a positive, motivating values environment. We also strive to offer education at an affordable cost with a sliding scale, so tuition can be less for each student if there are multiple students in a family. Please get in touch with us to learn more about our available transportation options and any other questions you may have.
SciCore Values
Our values encompass a traditional understanding of academic and ethical integrity. We foster an environment of critical thinking, an evolving understanding of what is needed for young people to succeed, good notetaking, technical writing, public speaking skills, and a deeper understanding of the fundamentals behind each field of learning. We encourage honesty, civility, freedom of thought, and respect for the natural law. We do not encourage enforce or proliferate critical race theory, gender theory politicized science, and extreme ideologies, but rather expect our teachers to give both sides of every argument to help students carefully discern for themselves with reasoning, evidence, and informed personal conscience. We expect and foster maturity in this regard, and believe there is great untapped personal potential in middle and high school students through which they may unleash and refine their hidden talents and find great joy in everything that they do.
AP and Pre-AP Courses
SciCore now offers both AP and pre-AP courses for grades 7-12, a great opportunity for our students to optimize college resumes and preparedness. No competition or preliminary requirements are needed, outside of parental discernment and approval, and AP exams are exclusively available for all registered high school students. Additionally, honors courses are another option to receive near college level instruction in STEM and humanities courses. These courses, combined with our hands-on laboratory and seminar experiences provide great scholastic depth in knowledge that is directly applicable to the higher education and professional worlds. Please visit our high school and middle school website pages to learn more!
An Outstanding Education for Pre-K Through 12th Grade Students
The SciCore Research Institute is an extracurricular activity open to high school students. Participants meet after school several times a week to conduct laboratory research in an area important to contemporary science. This resesarch can result in professional presentation or publication, a valuable asset for college applications. Previous research topics included: novel algae bioreactor, genetic modification of algae, ethanol fuel cell, and design of flow batteries.
The SciCore Student Service Corps
The SciCore Student Service Corps is a new initiative available to grades 7-12 to bring about a sense of unique civic and communal responsibility in the usage of individual or group talents. Students commit themselves to projects that utilize academic or creative knowledge gifts. Not only does this encourage our students to be good, wise, and ethical stewards of the world around them, but it gives them a sense of purpose and vision for what they have learned and experienced in school so far! One great example is our online magazine linked below!
Mission Statement: "Our mission is to provide an environment where students are highly motivated and can fully realize their academic and personal potential. We are committed to providing our students with sustained individual attention, a well-rounded education, training in analytical and independent thinking, and opportunities to express their creativity and originality. We also seek to instill the values of honesty, cooperation, civility, and good citizenship."
